POETIC ROUTE ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS BY TUK TUK

Álvaro de Campos was born in Tavira, on 15th October 1890 (at 1.30 PM, so e Ferreira Gomes tells me, and it's true because, according to the horoscope made for this hour, all is correct)

A few years ago, Casa Álvaro de Campos displayed poems by Álvaro de Campos on plaques across the city creatin the POETIC ROUTE ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS  

In October, Tuk Tuk Tavira is launching this new route. Visitors will be taken to see each of these poems, visiting the railway station, Goji cafeteria, Café Bar Quinito, Pasteleria Tavirense, Marisqueira Praça Velha, Caixa Agricola, Restaurant Casarão do Chico, Tasca  Zé André, Pasteleria Romana and ends with a visit to Casa Álvaro de Campos. Along the way, the guide will tell of the connection between Fernando Pessoa and Tavira. The visitors will be invited to pick a view of Tavira where they will be photographed holding the sign Aqui Nasceu Álvaro de Campos (Alvaro de Campos  was born here).

Young members of the arts and culture association ARTE, pupils in Tavira schools, will be the interpreters of this daily poetic moment during the morning programme of Radio Gilão, presenting poems by Fernando Pessoa and his heteronyms.

In the 2016 Festa, Tavira's Municipal Archives organized an exhibition of documents that
showed the visitor events relevant to Tavira's progress in 1880. Now the exhibition has a
virtual format and can be visited on the site of the Tavira Municipal Archives.

Na edição de 2016 o Arquivo Municipal de Tavira  organizou uma exposição documental que levava o visitante a conhecer acontecimentos relevantes para o progresso de Tavira em 1890. Agora a exposição tem formato virtual e pode ser visitada no site do Arquivo Municipal de Tavira.
