In Pessoa Inédito. Fernando Pessoa
Canadian Tammy Weis presents original compositions, setting to music English poems by Fernando Pessoa. This is another opportunity to see the show that filled the Casa Fernando Pessoa in Lisbon and Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, and was seen also in Tavira. Tammy Weis found inspiration for this project in a gallery in the Alfama district of Lisbon.
Tammy Weis. Grew up in Alberta, Canada, with a great-grandfather who played banjo and fiddle. With her first album “Legacy”, dedicated to the memory of her mother. she began her international career at the Vancouver Jazz Festival, followed by appearances on a number of European stages. In 2010 she was nominated for London Jazz Vocalist of the Year. For her new album she set to music of poems in English by Fernando Pessoa. Michael Bublé said about her: 'Isn't she great! Now there's a Vocalist!'
Carlos Barretto, born in Estoril in 1957, came into contact with music through his father who played guitar and chromatic harmonica. At the age of ten he entered the National Conservatory of Lisbon, choosing as his instrument the double-bass, influenced by the Cascais Jazz festival. He continued his studies at the Higher Academy of Music in Vienna and settled in Paris in 1984 playing in different parts of Europe. In 1993 he returned to Portugal where he works with the best Portuguese artists.
António Pinto studied at the Academia dos Amadores de Música, at the Hot Club de Portugal and at the Superior School of Music in Lisbon. He participated, among others, in the groups Septeto de Tomás Pimentel, Orchestra of the Hot Club de Portugal, Nanã Sousa Dias, Sounds of Lusofonia Orchestra, Moreiras Jazztet, Carlos Martins Quartet, Sounds of the World by Laurent Filipe, Claus Nymark Big Band, Alexandre Diniz Quartet, Quinteto José Meneses. He collaborated with the best Portuguese musicians.
Berg, singer and musician. Teófilo Sonnenberg, was born in Angola, grew up in Porto and lived in Switzerland. He joined Rui Veloso's band and entered albums by Boss AC, Rita Guerra, Nuno Guerreiro, Pedro Abrunhosa and GNR. She released her first solo album in 1999. The second, "Mundo", in 2008. In 2014 she won the first edition of the Portuguese version of the program X Factor, in 2016, released the album "Tempo." She accepted the invitation of Tammy Weis to integrate the Fernando Pessoa in Tavira at the FESTA DOS ÁOS DE ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS 2017.
