Shit! Let’s go all the way to the front! If God himself prevents it, let’s go to the front… It makes no difference… In the old Portuguese way, let’s go all the way to the front, bad talkers and stubborn……

João Garcia Miguel, o dramaturgo, o ator, o realizador teatral, e o artista visual, nos apresenta(m) sua leitura visual inspirada num excerto da “Saudação a Walt Whitman” de Álvaro de Campos.

João Garcia Miguel, the playwright, the actor, the theatrical director, and the visual artist, presents us with his visual reading inspired by an excerpt from Álvaro de Campos’s “Salutation to Walt Whitman”.

João Garcia Miguel (Lisboa 1961)

Licenciado em Pintura pela Escola de Belas Artes de Lisboa, é diretor teatral, dramaturgo, performer, investigador e artista visual, com um percurso interdisciplinar. No teatro retrabalha textos clássicos através da disrupção e inovação. O seu Burgher King Lear(2006) recebeu o prêmio FAD – Sebastià Gash. Desde 2002 desenvolve investigação académica em artes performativas e visuais no ISCTE, na Universidade de Alcala de Henares, na Universidade de Granada e na Faculdades de Belas Artes de Lisboa.

A graduate in Painting from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, João is a theater director, playwright, performer, researcher and visual artist, with an interdisciplinary path. In theater, he reworks classic texts through disruption and innovation. His Burgher King Lear (2006) received the FAD – Sebastià Gash award. Since 2002, he has been developing academic research in performing and visual arts at ISCTE, at the University of Alcala de Henares, at the University of Granada and at the Faculties of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
