O programa escolhido para celebrar o mais romântico dos heterónimos pessoanos pretende sublinhar o vínculo entre o Modernismo e a estética romântica em obras de grandes criadores do início do século 20. Assim, a Sonata op.1 de Alban Berg retoma aspetos do virtuosismo pianístico de Liszt e contém reminiscências de harmonias wagnerianas. As Variações op.27 de Anton Webern, por indicação do autor, devem ser tocadas com uma expressão contida porém “apaixonadamente lírica”.  Debussy introduz exotismo e retoma antigas escalas modais da música do ocidente. A suíte Children’s corner, dedicada à sua filha pequena,  contém seis miniaturas de forte encanto poético. L’isle joyeuse traduz em música a arquetípica viagem de volta à ilha feliz da pátria de origem. The programme chosen to celebrate the most romantic of Pessoa’s heteronyms aims to underline the link between Modernism and the romantic aesthetic in works by great composers of the beginning of the 20th Century. Thus, the Sonata Op. 1. by Alban Berg recaptures aspects of the pianistic virtuosity of Liszt and contains reminiscences of the harmonies of Wagner. The Variations  Op. 27. by Anton Webern, as indicated by the composer, should be played with an expression that is contained but “passionately lyrical”. Debussy introduced exoticism and recaptured the ancient modal scales of western music. His Children’s Corner Suite, dedicated to his young daughter, contains six miniatures of great poetic charm. L’isle joyeuse translates into music the archetypical journey back to the happy island that is the place of your birth. In contrast to the 20th century music, the recital begins with a sonata by Josef Haydn, one of the geniuses of Classicism.
