The poem by Ruby McCann, (1963 – 2022), Address to a Birthday Cake, was written as a celebration of a Scottish partnership with Portugal that resulted in the Exclusive Party for Álvaro De Campos, an event that integrates the programme of the BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS since 2019, and the program Glasgow Literary Lounge at the Scotia Bar .

O poema é uma releitura do Address to a Haggis de Robert Burns com o qual Ruby celebra o aniversário de Álvaro de Campos.

The poem is a different approach to Robert Burns’ Address to a Haggis, with which Ruby celebrates Álvaro de Campos’ birthday.

Ruby foi uma das fundadoras do grupo Cheeky Besom Productions, e criadora do programa Glasgow Literary Lounge, que se apresenta em diferentes pubs de Glasgow.

Ruby was one of the founders of the Cheeky Besom Productions group, and of the Glasgow Literary Lounge program, which is presented in different pubs in Glasgow.

O poema de Ruby foi, em 2021, lido na Casa Álvaro de Campos, Tavira, em inglês, scotts e português, e transmitido online para ser visto pela autora.

Este ano, em memória à Ruby, que nos deixou em Fevereiro passado, serão seus companheiros da Cheeky Besom Productions que promoverão uma leitura coletiva, para a FESTA DOS ANOS DE ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS.

This year, in memory of Ruby who left us last February, her teammates from Cheeky Besom Productions will be promoting a collective reading for the BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS.

Também apresentaremos, numa ligação ZOOM, o livro Calton Ceilidh, uma antologia que reune performances apresentadas em eventos Do Glasgow Literary Lounge, e que inclui uma edição da EXCLUSIVE PARTY FOR ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS.

We will also present, during a ZOOM call, the book Calton Ceilidh, an anthology that brings together performances presented at Glasgow Literary Lounge events, and which includes an edition of the EXCLUSIVE PARTY FOR ÁLVARO DE CAMPOS.

Estou convencida que Álvaro de Campos terá pertencido a um grupo de poetas semelhante quando estudou engenharia naval em Glasgow, e hoje, seria com certeza um membro dos Cheeky Besom.

I am convinced that Álvaro de Campos would have belonged to a similar group of poets when he studied naval engineering in Glasgow, and today, he would certainly be a member of the Cheeky Besom.
