In Tabacaria de Álvaro de Campos

Esta  exposição não tenta fazer uma ilustração do poema. A obra leva a artista a viajar pela sua inquietante universalidade. Segundo Kinga, a Tabacaria é sobre a nossa derrota individual e desilusão, mas também sobre o triunfo da imaginação. António Tabucchi chamou-lhe “o poema mais importante do século XX. A grandeza pode ser difícil de quantificar, mas Tabacaria é seguramente um dos mais admirados poemas de Fernando Pessoa e da língua portuguesa…”.  Foi inspirada por essa instância da ficção pessoana, as suas perturbações, as suas insónias, aventuras, narrativas mais ou menos perturbadoras, que Kinga foi levada a realizar estes trabalhos.

 always the impossible as stupid as the real…

In The Tobacconist’s by Álvaro de Campos

 

This exhibition is inspired by this poem on a journey into its disquieting universality. According to Kinga The Tobacconist’s is about our individual defeat and disillusionment, but also about the triumph of the imagination. Antonio Tabucchi called it “the most important poem of the 20th century. Greatness can be difficult to quantify, but the Tabacaria is certainly one of the most admired poems of Fernando Pessoa and in the Portuguese language.”. It was inspired by this instance of Pessoan fiction, its perturbations, its insomnias, its adventures, its narratives that are more or less disturbing that Kinga was driven to do these works.
